Other Projects

OBJECTIVE:

This is a collection of other personal projects from over the last few years. There is a mix of but not limited to some music inspired illustrations and various poster designs. To me these designs reflect the best of my style when it is presented in a more commercial way. Looking forward to constantly updating what is here as I get better as an artist!

PROJECT SCOPE:

  • Place for my most current work

  • Make stuff that I would want to buy

  • Further develop my style

  • Design with print in mind

  • Just have fun

Barns Courtney Tour Poster Concept 2022

One of the posters I created as a part of Scotty Russell’s artist coaching program. At the time I was transitioning into the idea of me focusing on illustration. This program allowed me to explore and find my style. I feel this was the start of blending illustration with my traditional design background. This poster was inspired by Barns single at the time “Supernatural.”

Mac Saturn Tour Poster Concept 2022

The second poster I created as a part of Scotty Russell’s artist coaching program. Mac Saturn is a group from Detroit and I thought it had a better chance of them seeing the design. Once I posted it on Instagram a few of the band members did end up interacting with it. Unfortunately while the music is good the band has since ran into some personal issues that I don’t support. This piece is still important enough to me that it needs to be shown.

The Blue Stones Crystal Skull Illustration

The Blue Stones is one of my favorite new bands over the last few years. Seeing them in concert live was so inspiring I wanted to create a piece to commemorate it. While working on this project, I also wanted to use this font from Fried Design Co. that felt perfect for a rock n’ roll band. For me this art was meant to end up as merchandise and was a fun way for me to explore that world.

Caskey “It Was All a Dream” Illustration

Hearing this song for the first time instantly left an impression on me. It’s all about how hard work yields success and you don’t have to be flashy to get it done. The first few lines mention a Bugatti so I wanted to illustrate one of their cars in a dream-like way. I chose my favorite the Chiron, which I also have the 1:8 scale Lego set of this same car to also tie in another passion of mine. The red text in this piece contrasted to the rest really helps to get the message from the song across. To this point I feel this is my favorite illustration I’ve ever done.

JACK WHITE TOOLS OF THE TRADE POSTER

No surprise if you know me but Jack White is my favorite musician. This piece is my tribute to the many decades of his career. I wanted to try giving the poster a vintage feel with a gradient background from an older era. The first guitar in red on the left he made popular during his time in The White Stripes. The second guitar in blue is his recent Fender signature line and represents his solo career. Finally the guitar in yellow is famously the guitar he closes every show throughout the years playing “Seven Nation Army.” The color is symbolic of all things under his brand Third Man and how they’ve helped grow the music industry.
